A comprehensive product demonstration ensures Essar Group chooses Sealite buoys
A strong presentation from Sealite distributor, Aeromarine, convinces the Essar Group to choose polyethylene buoys as channel marking for their port situated at Hazira, Gujrat, India.
Essar were reluctant to use polyethylene buoys, so convincing them to choose Sealite products was not an easy task for Aeromarine. A comprehensive product demonstration carried out at Essar’s port took a full day for Aeromarine to present but after a detailed and impressive presentation about the benefits of polyethylene buoys by Mr V. N. Kapani and Mr Aliasgar of Aeromarine, Essar chose to use Sealite’s rotomoulded buoys and lanterns for this project. Of greatest interest on the day was the operation of Sealite’s GPS/GSM lanterns which attracted a large amount of attention.
The total order was for 2x Poseidon-1750, 3x Nautilus-2200 & 7x SLB1250 buoys, and 11x SL60 &
9x SLC420 lanterns. Aeromarine carried out the installation together with the port captains who were most impressed with the ease of installation and deployment of the Sealite products.
The Essar Group is one of India’s largest port operators and has recently constructed an all-weather, deep-draft port and jetty facility in Hazira, India. The port has a berth of 550 metres in length and an alongside depth of 12.5 metres, and will handle the import of iron ore, pellets, coal, limestone and export of finished steel products.
