High Output LED Lighthouse Light Source
(SL-LED)

The SL-LED Series are revolutionary solid-state light sources designed to replace traditional lamps or lighthouse lights in classical lighthouse optics.

They are used in lighthouse upgrades with huge savings in energy consumption and maintenance possible, due to the use of LED technology. Their long service life and high luminous efficiency makes them a great operational choice. By retaining the classical lens untouched and in place, this ensures the beauty and historical significance of the lighthouse and its optic can be enjoyed for many years to come.

The SL-LED is capable of continuous or flashing operation and suitable for use in revolving or fixed optics. Their crisp, white light improves conspicuity in light polluted areas while in flashing mode instantly provides an ‘eye-catching’ sharp flash at full brilliance.

The SL-LED Light Source can be used in conjunction with Sealite’s Universal LED Controller and PC Configuration Tool. They provide a range of features including the monitoring of LED status, power supply and turntable rotation speed. The Controller also allows advanced programming features to be configured, including intensity settings, flash character and a selection of alarm conditions.

*Originally developed by the GLA R&RNAV Directorate and manufactured under license to Trinity House.

Sealite LED Light Source at Splitpoint Lighthouse, Australia
  • Capable of continuous or flashing operation
  • Suitable for use in both revolving and fixed optics
  • Typically replaces a 500-1500W traditional light source with an LED light source (variable up to 200W), making solar power possible
  • Crisp white light of LEDs improves conspicuity in light polluted areas
  • Directional setup of LEDs for additional power saving by not shining light over land where not required
  • LED life expectancy of approximately 10 years; no need for a moving lamp changer
  • Anodised heat sinks to maintain cool running of LEDs on steady burning duties
  • CE & Electrical:
    • FCC Part 15 Rules & ICES-003
    • EN61000-6-1: 2007 (IEC61000-6-1:2005)
    • EN61000-6-3: 2007 (IEC61000-6-3: 2006)
    • IEC61000-4-2: 2008
    • IEC61000-4-3: 2010
    • IEC61000-4-6: 2008
  • Quality Assurance: ISO9001:2015
  • Waterproof: IP67
  • Various configurations available to suit existing lighthouse optics
  • Retains the historical heritage of the lighthouse
  • Simplest solution involves only changing the lamp and utilising the existing pedestals & controls (pedestals also available from Sealite)
  • Control equipment provided can accommodate a wide range of power supply choices, operating modes and power levels
  • Significantly increased efficiency results in reduced servicing and maintenance
