The two-day programme combined classroom learning with outdoor, hands-on sessions. This format ensured that theory was immediately applied to real equipment.
Training topics included:
“The focus was on practicality,” said Yemon Chambers, Customer Service Manager at SPX Aids to Navigation, Somerville. “The goal was to build technician confidence for real field issues by focusing on hands-on work and open discussion.”
The sessions were highly interactive, with great engagement throughout. Delegates openly shared real‑world experiences from installation and maintenance work across the Philippines, which helped steer discussions toward real issues teams face in the field.
The outdoor, hands‑on sessions were a clear highlight. Working directly with the equipment, participants practised fault finding and repairs with guidance from our Sealite specialists. This practical approach helped turn discussion into action and gave teams more confidence to diagnose and resolve issues when they’re back on site.
“This training was very relevant to our daily work,” said an Officer from the Philippines Coast Guard. “We discussed real challenges and received clear, practical advice. The hands-on sessions were particularly useful.”

Well‑maintained aids to navigation are critical to maritime safety. By strengthening practical technical skills, Sealite helps customers maintain reliable AtoN performance and safer waterways over the long term.
“Our responsibility does not end with delivering equipment,” said Chambers. “Training ensures customers can get the best performance from their systems throughout their service life.”
By the end of the program, participants were better equipped to diagnose issues quickly, maintain operational readiness, and apply their skills with confidence in real-world conditions.
The Cavite training highlights Sealite’s broader approach to customer support. It is based on technical expertise, collaboration, and long-term partnership.
For maritime authorities, Sealite’s technical trainings offer more than product knowledge. They build confidence, capability, and shared responsibility for maritime safety.
